IR170: Island Retreat 170

WE really loved this beautiful spacious home/unit #170 it had everything you need for your stay, from plenty towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and body wash 3 in 1. All the pots and pans utensils full of all supplies you need. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it was super hot in there even though i had the thermostat set at 65 the whole 2 nights and 3 days of our stay it read 73 the whole weekend. The first night it was hot but i pulled thru the second i was sweaty couldn't sleep at all from how hot it was in there. I will stay here again in a different unit. My family also stayed here #157 and their unit was super nice and cold. I did text to report it and the Lady called me right away she very nice and did send someone to check the ac when we got back from the beach there was a note saying that there is nothing wrong with the ac just that it is so hot outside. vacation 2023

Perfect location and access to the beach as well as restaurants and stores. King size bed was so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location

The LIP staff responded to all our concerns very quickly and did all they could to remedy the situations that were a problem. I give them very high ratings for their service. Sebera(not sure on spelling) and Matt in maintenance were very responsive. The property was lacking in several ways but that did not stop us from enjoying our time and we are renting the adjoining unit next year and it's the same owner so clearly we were satisfied enough to return. The issues were:No outside chairs - the photo clearly showed them. But small issue.The two sliding doors had no way of locking on the day we arrived. Big issue. No one responded to my call that evening but the next morning I reported it directly to the office and maintenance was there quickly to use PVC pipes to secure the doors as the locks themselves needed to be ordered.The dining room chairs were horrible, shaky and uneven, there were 4 in a unit that is supposed to sleep 10. The picture showed more chairs and I assume they had broken and not been replaced as they were terrible. Sort of a big problem because we had guests.The Wi-Fi and TV service did not work as promised when we arrived. Big problem. But LIP staff worked to correct it for us quickly, the owners had not paid the bill and LIP remedied. Again, Matt had a hand in that solution for us too. Cleaning - both this year and last we were told our rental units were cleaned before we arrived yet clearly not well at all. Both years there were inches of dust and dirt on the ceiling fans and when they were used made the entire unit filthy. This year there was a medication bottle from a previous renter left in the bathroom, inadequate supply of linens (remedied quickly by housekeeping), there was a layer of grit on every surface in the unit, now I realize it is the beach and that is what you get but it clearly was not cleaned the way I would expect before we rented. The rugs in the rear bedroom and the cushions on the bench in the dining area are absolutely filthy and stained and I believe should be replaced. It doesn't feel great walking into that. Also, window sills had large amounts of dead bugs, so clearly that was not cleaned recently. I sound pretty critical and perhaps most people there for a beach vacation don't care but it was our home for 2 months and we were working all day so these things were important. However, as I said LIP remedied what they could and I am a huge ambassador for spending the winter in Port A. Two of our visitors this year are now renting their own places for next season and I highly recommended LIP units as your reputation there is that your team is the best in Port A.

My wife and I enjoyed our short stay here. Plenty of space and very close to the beach with a walkway providing direct beach access just a few hundred feet from the door. All appliances were in working order, beds were comfortable, and parking available for 2 vehicles. A great place for a family to stay, as there is plenty of room.
